Optimum duration: 1 hour.

More Information

Students should be encouraged to ask the other teams questions about the choices they made during the Mission Planning module and to discuss specific points. The direction of the discussion will depend upon the modules you undertaken during the Mars in the Classroom project. Some points for discussion could include:

  • What can we learn by studying the features on Mars?
  • What is the best way to study the surface of Mars?
  • How could the astronauts best cope with the long travel time in low or zero gravity and still be ready to do their job upon arrival at Mars?
  • What have they learnt from from the Mars in the Classroom project?
  • How can they apply what they have learnt to new situations?

The key things to stress here are how each of the modules undertaken relates to the final mission planning phase, and how what the students have learnt during this project can be used to help them in the future.
