The majority of the larger foraminifera derive from the foraminiferal sub-order Allogromiina.
Larger foraminifera are themselves divided into 6 sub-orders:
	the Fusulinina, the Lagenina, the Involutinina,
	the Miliolina, the Textulariina and the Rotalina.
